Stapleton Attracts New Businesses to Area

As the sixth -best-selling master planned community in the country and the future home of a commuter rail stop, businesses are increasingly flocking to Stapleton Denver  and establishing Stapleton as one of Denver’s leading neighborhoods for vibrant commercial development. The Stapleton area features more than a dozen new projects recently opened or in progress that are slated for completion over the next year with several future opportunities in the pipeline.

Among these businesses is the highly anticipated restaurant, Four Friends Kitchen, scheduled to open February 2015 at 2893 Roslyn Street. This Southern inspired concept was started by four Stapleton residents and next-door neighbors, Kurt and Sarah Pletcher and Tim and Genefer Thornton. The locally owned restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and brunch with a Southern inspired menu, an upscale, family-friendly atmosphere, and the first and only open-air rooftop dining option in Stapleton’s East 29th Avenue Town Center.

“After looking at a variety of options, we realized building our restaurant from the ground up in this highly desirable location would be the best thing for us,” said co-founder Tim Thornton.  “And with the rooftop, Southern inspired menu and delicious fare, we believe we are filling a niche in the area and can become a dining destination for the entire Northeast Denver region.”

Additionally, Stapleton—home to hundreds of pre-school aged kids—is the latest site of The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development, scheduled to open in Spring 2015. It uses the most current, academically endorsed methods to ensure that children have fun while learning the skills they need for long-term success in school and in life. Specially trained teachers collaborate with parents to nurture children into respectful, confident and joyful learners. The new school will be located at 4901 N. Wabash Street in Northfield Stapleton.

“I am proud to be opening a Goddard School in Stapleton and am committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in our community,” said Owner Lance Shimomura.

Additionally, Dr. Michele Smith, long-time owner of the 29th Avenue Animal Hospital veterinary practice in Stapleton’s E. 29th Avenue Town Center, will open later this year The Stapleton Veterinary Hospital, a new facility she is building at 8601 E. Montview Boulevard.

“Stapleton Veterinary Hospital will be a full-service veterinary hospital committed to providing high-quality, state-of-the-art medicine and compassionate care for pets in the Stapleton, Lowry, Park Hill and surrounding Denver neighborhoods,” said Smith. “We will be offering a wide range of services including wellness and preventative care, vaccines, surgery, radiography and dentistry.”

United Properties is also developing approximately 1.2 million square feet of industrial and office warehouse space and has already preleased 665,000sf to tenants such as Workplace Resource, FedEx Express, ReadyIce, Swire Coca Cola USA, TireRack.com and BSG.
