Lin Clark knew there was more to share about Stapleton’s art community.
So the owner of Art & Framing at Stapleton partnered with local artists, homebuilders, business sponsors & others to launch the community’s inaugural Open Studios Tour, which invited the metro area to visit local art studios & stops. The event drew more than 400 during the last weekend of September!
“We had such a wonderful turnout,” Lin said. “I heard from a lot of people about what a treat it was to discover the talent in Stapleton … and to see how these artists work. We had everything from oils to pastels to mosaics, photography and jewelry.
“The event patrons could also see all of the artists’ processes, and I think that was one of the parts they really loved.”
Seventeen artists participated, drawing crowds from Highlands Ranch, Parker and other areas in addition to Northeast Denver.
“Half of the artists actually have a home studio, which to me says something about the homes in Stapleton. How the houses allow you to have a home office, walk to work, shops or restaurants … and do it all in the same community,” Lin said.
She said she plans to continue hosting the Open Studios Tour every September.
“I know we’re going to add event stops because I’ve already had inquiries from artists who were touring or were out of town this year,” Lin said.
