New Music School Ready to Rock this Fall

Stapleton Music Lab in Denver, CO

A new music school adjacent to Stapleton is preparing for its first school year with a wide variety of music programs available for all ages and skill levels. Stapleton Music Lab, owned by Stapleton residents Matt and Hailey Rushing, opened earlier this year at 3700 Havana Street, next door to CrossFit Stapleton. Dedicated entirely to music, the studio offers private lessons on a wide range of instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, voice, violin, ukulele, as well as group programs for adults, pre-K children and toddlers. It’s also building its first rock band program named “Chemistry,” sticking to the lab theme, which matches like-minded musicians together to form groups and bands.

“We wanted to build an environment where students get maximum enjoyment with their instruments,” says Matt Rushing. “That is our mission. If we send a few kids to Juilliard in the process, we’ll take it, but our main goal is for students to look forward to practicing and performing music, both during their lessons as well as on their own time.” Stapleton Music Lab works towards this goal by teaming with college-educated musicians and performers who bring their own approach to each lesson or program. The instructors listen to the goals and needs of the students and craft a lesson and performance plan to achieve those goals.

Stapleton Music Lab’s early adopters are several months into their lessons, and the reception has been very positive. “We started out with Stapleton Music Lab’s LabKit which exposed our kids to four instruments before choosing one to continue studying. Our kids chose drums and voice in the end and look forward to their time with Alana and Christine (their instructors) each week,” recalls Stapleton resident Ben Johnson.

“Stapleton is a community that puts a huge value on the arts, and we feel honored to be a part of the already impressive offering in the area. We feel that our approach and studio has a unique vibe, and nothing is more fulfilling than seeing our students develop with their instruments,” Matt Rushing.

Stapleton Music Lab has a large capacity for students, and is enrolling now for private lessons and group programs. Learn more by visiting their website, www.stapletonmusiclab.com.
