The Paul Sandoval Campus construction for the Gym building addition and completion is well underway. The building will be ready for students to use in January 2019.
The temporary wall inside the Gym has been removed. The rest of the wood flooring is complete, and the Gym is waiting on the bleachers, divider curtain, and scoreboard to be delivered in December. The metal stud partitions now define the Weight Lifting and Fitness rooms and drywall will start soon.
The steel superstructure has been completed along with the exterior sheathing. The building needs metal wall panels to finish the Gymnasium’s exterior.
Weekly OAC (Owner, Architect, and Contractor) meetings continue. Representatives from all parties discuss the schedule for upcoming work, the status of material submittals are reviewed, and other paperwork relative to the construction project are discussed to help make sure the project stays on schedule.
The Gym project is located on the Paul Sandoval Campus. It is a 20-acre site on the southeast corner of 56th Ave and Central Park Blvd and is in the Northfield Redevelopment area. LOA Architecture, P.C. is the architect for the Gymnasium project. This is the 8th project for LOA Architecture, P.C. on the Paul Sandoval Campus. Mark Young Construction is the general contractor.
