I-70 Road Closure This Weekend

First weekend closure of I-70 through Denver set as project nears 20 percent completion.

Crews will install bridge beams for new I-270 flyover ramp starting April 12

This weekend will bring the first major closure of Interstate 70 through northeast Denver — the first of four full-weekend shutdowns allowed during the $1.2 billion expansion of the freeway.

Barricades will go up at 10 p.m. Friday at Colorado Boulevard on the west and near Central Park Boulevard and the entrance to Interstate 270 on the east. More than 3 miles of I-70 will be closed, with reopening set for 5 a.m. Monday, just before the morning rush hour.
