Enjoy nature’s beauty at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Refuge


The Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge has tours and hand-on activities this summer that everyone will enjoy. The best part is that all the programs are free!

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Pollinator Walk– Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Discover how to attract pollinators, butterflies, and birds to your backyard.
  • Bike the Refuge– Saturday, June 28, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Grab your bike and enjoy an 8 miles refuge tour as you pedal your way through the grassland, wetlands and more.
  • Thunder on the Prairie– Saturday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Learn about the iconic American bison and get a closer behind the scenes peek at what’s it’s like to be a bison moving through their corral.
  • Nature Drawing for Kids- Saturday, July 26, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: make your own nature journal and uncover the secrets of nature and drawing and story illustrations with artist and author Heather Hall.
