First Annual Community Expedition

Join the Master Community Association (MCA) for the first annual Community Expedition! From September 13th through September 21st the MCA will host a week of events designed to foster community and bring neighbors closer together. These thought-provoking explorations will strengthen bonds and allow participants to discover commonalities and celebrate differences.

  • Friday, September 13th: 6:30-10pm meet at the Hangar at Stanley Marketplace as Project Worthmore hosts their 7th annual art gallery fundraiser. Explore the thoughtful pieces of art available for purchase while listening to Grande Orkquesta Navarre. There will be food, drinks, and a silent auction. All of the proceeds will go to the comprehensive programming that Project Worthmore provides refugees who have recently resettled in Denver. Learn more information and get your tickets here +
  • Saturday, September 14th: 5-10pm at The Cube (8371 E Northfield Blvd.) the MCA hosts a K-pop Showcase & Fundraiser. Innaseoul Entertainment, KonnectPop, and Dae Gee have joined forces to bring you a Daebak (awesome) K-pop Party to celebrate Korean music, food, and culture. The party also serves as a fundraiser for the Korean Heritage Camp for Adoptive Families. Click here to buy your tickets +
    • From 5:30pm-8pm don’t forget to check out the Harvest Moon Dinner and Silent Auction at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (6550 Gateway Road, Commerce City, CO 80022). The evening begins with activities and a silent auction, followed by hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Purchase your tickets here +
  • Sunday, September 15th: head to Conservatory Green plaza for the MSASA African Market. More details to come. See the latest details here +
  • Monday, September 16th: join in the all-day celebration at the Stanley Marketplace and Hangar for Mexican Independence Day Celebration. At 6pm, the non-profit, Raíces Mi Tierra, is back for a free dance performance in the community area. This organization is a dance group that is committed to share dance as a celebration of life, Mexican heritage, and to reach new audiences while providing a safe haven for children who share a love for dance.   • Tuesday, September 17th: learn more about the history of The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. This session begins at 7pm and will be held at The Cube (8371 E Northfield Blvd.). View the details here +
  • Wednesday, September 18th: is an all-day celebration at the Stanley Marketplace as we celebrate Islamic New Year. Join in the fun +
  • Thursday, September 19th: meet at Runway 35 at 6pm to rejoice in the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. Take this opportunity to enjoy entertainment, bingo, a movie and to gather with your neighbors to celebrate this momentous occasion. This event is free and open to the public. Get the details +
  • Friday, September 20th: from 6:30-8:30 at a secret location the expedition will focus on the Last Dream of Summer- Picnic in the Park. This is the Denver spin on the famed, Diner En Blanc. The MCA is creating an evening gathering with the purpose to bring people together and celebrate commonalities and differences in a magical setting. Diner en Blanc began in Paris and grew to be a worldwide event where people gather and set up a temporary, chic dining area. Bring your own picnic as the MCA hosts table, seating, and entertainment.   • Saturday, September 21st: head over to the Hangar at the Stanley Marketplace from 4-9pm and partake in the Givetoberfest- Stapleton Schools Fundraiser. This second annual festival is hosted by the Neir Team and is an Oktoberfest charity benefitting the Stapleton Elementary Schools. Dress in your lederhosen and drindls as you dance to Rick Borger and the Average German Band as they perform traditional German music, chicken dance, Ein Prozit, and many more!
