Started by two local Stapleton Denver moms with deep ties to Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), the 4th Annual Stanley Harvesting Hope 5K will take runners (and walkers) through the beautiful paths surrounding Central Park in Denver’s 80238 community. Event registration includes a long sleeve baseball style t-shirt, swag bag and timed results, and proceeds from the race will go to benefit the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research. The Stanley Harvesting Hope 5K is the only race in the state that promotes awareness of PWS and childhood obesity – a matter of heavy focus and medical research here in Colorado.
Thanksgiving can be a particularly difficult time for those dealing with PWS, and the Stanley Harvesting Hope 5K gives local families an opportunity to celebrate and be thankful together – rather than focusing on the difficult parts of the holiday. As a family-focused event, kids 10 and under are invited to participate in a free 1K fun run and enjoy an Epic Kids Zone following the race.
