The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge also experienced significant flood damage in September, but made repairs through assistance from the Federal Highways Administration. Here’s the full update …
- All facilities are open, including the visitor center and the Auto Tour Route. The visitor center is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- Most trails are open, but the following trails will continue to have closures due to flood damage: (1) Woodland Trail; (2) Rod and Gun Club Trail; (3) Lake Mary Loop – southern portion closed; (4) Legacy Trail – closed at washout; and (5) Discovery Trail – closed at washout. Updated trail maps are available at the refuge.
- The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge fishing program ended for the season during the shutdown. Catch and release fishing is offered every year from April 15 to Oct. 15.
