Celebrating Kwanzaa in Denver

This fun family event will center around the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Interactive activities will help community members gain a deeper sense of the meaning and origin of Kwanzaa. Light refreshments will be provided. Hosted by The Center for African American Health and the Black Child Development Institute.

Wednesday December 26th Umoja (Unity)

  • 6:00 p.m. Salute the Kinara at 2401 Welton St. Blair Caldwell Library, featuring The Denver Marching Knights, parade to Cleo Parker Robinson’s New Dance Theatre, 119 Park Ave West for First Night Kwanzaa Celebration and induction of New Circle of Wisdom Members.
  • 7:00 p.m. Kwanzaa First Night 53rd Anniversary Celebration.  Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, 119 Park Ave West.  Tribute to the Late Dr. Jennie Mae Rucker, Educator, and Tribute to the Late Archie Jones, Community Activist,  Four new members will be inducted into the Circle of Wisdom.
