Russell Griffin and Frank Walker are co-owners of Cycleton, the new bike shop in the heart of Stapleton’s East 29th Avenue Town center. Griffin said the business all started with a flat tire. “Frank had biked to Stapleton to attend a concert on the Green with his child, who was attached to his bike via a tag-along. During their ride in Stapleton, the tire on the tag-along went flat,” Griffin said. “Frank was surprised there wasn’t a bike shop in Stapleton to fix the flat, especially after seeing all the families and bikes at the concert on the Green.”

Both Walker and Griffin met while attending the University of Denver. “When the idea of the bike shop came about, Frank called me to see if I was interested.” “Frank was aware I’d been an avid cyclist since the age of 15,” said Griffin. Griffin, then living with his family in Tennessee and the owner of a home building company, saw this as an opportunity to incorporate one of his passions into the business. Cycleton was created and has teamed up with Specialized, a premier bike manufacturer.

Cycleton provides many services, including a full service shop, bike accessories, training, clothing and nutritional foods such as Clif Bar and Hammer Gel brands.

One new addition to Cycleton is the Fit Studio. Ronie – Cycleton’s BG Fitter (certified Fit Studio technician) is one of only 40 certified technicians in the world. She utilizes Fit Studio, a cutting edge tool that uses video analysis, range of motion assessment and measurements to take the bike fit a step further. The Bike Fit Station is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday - please call Cycleton at 303-329-0069 to make an appointment. Cycleton also has weekly group rides from the store. Griffin says “I love to see how excited kids get when they come into the shop and start riding. Kids as young as 2-years-old can get the hang of riding a bike very quickly.”
