Denver officials hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Central Park Boulevard Interchange today.
The connection will open Monday, Oct. 31, providing direct access to Interstates 70 and 270. It will also connect north and south Stapleton via Central Park Boulevard.
The interchange’s construction began last fall. By mid-2012, the project will extend Central Park Boulevard from the neighborhoods at 36th Avenue to retail off Northfield Boulevard.
“Obviously, this is a very huge event for Denver,” said Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez at the ceremony. “When you invest in transportation, you also invest in safety and a better quality of life …”
The interchange borders Stapleton’s available land and commercial development north and south of I-70.
