Stapleton Annual Founders' Day Celebration Saturday, June 5th, 2004
Stapleton continues to grow and the third annual Founders' Day will celebrate this growth. On Saturday June 5th, Founders' Day will be kicked-off at 9:00 a.m. with the Stapleton Charity Chase, a 5K Race/Walk and 1K Family Walk, with proceeds benefiting Denver Catholic Charities. The run starts at 9:00 a.m. at the East West Greenway Park. Charity Chase details including registration and sponsorship opportunities At 4:00 p.m. the action will then move to Founders' Green in the East 29th Avenue Town Center. Here there will be face painters, magicians, an inflatable jungle gym for kids, a masseuse, a dunk booth, and more. To make the celebration complete, "Stapleton Under the Stars," a movie and concert series will be kicked-off on Founders' Day. A three-band concert will enliven the celebration featuring the great talents of local artists DeVotchaKa and Matthew Moon. An opening act will begin at 5:00 p.m., DeVotchKa will follow at 5:40pm and Matthew Moon will perform at 7:05pm. Stapleton Under the Stars website
