Best in American Living Award Presented to Forest City Stapleton, Inc.
In recognition of the nation’s best new housing designs, the Best in American Living Award (BALA) awards were presented on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at an awards ceremony in conjunction with the National Association of Homebuilders’ annual convention and exposition in Orlando. A Smart Growth award in the BALA competition was presented to Forest City Stapleton, Inc. for the Stapleton project. Sponsored by Professional Builder magazine and the National Association of Homebuilders, the BALA program showcases homes that illustrate design quality, succeed in the marketplace, and exemplify the “Best in American Living.” To qualify, homes must have been completed or communities opened between May 1, 2003, and July 15, 2004. A total of 104 award winners in 41 categories were chosen from more than 490 entries. The 2004 BALA competition’s panel of 12 judges was composed of builders, marketing experts, architects, land planners, developers, design professionals, interior designers and Professional Builder editor.
